It is located 35 km away from Warsaw and is populated by over 6,500 residents. The Bug River runs through the area. It is also intersected by the Warsaw - Białystok - Helsinki road, the so called Via Baltica.
CHARACTER OF REGION
The area is of agricultural character featuring developed individual recreation. Deposits of silt are important natural resource of the region. Tourists, who will decide to visit our region, will enjoy an abundance of nature, including rivers, woods and much diverse world of fauna and flora. lt's really worth visiting.
The township has also historic memorabilia that bear witness to the rich past of this land. For example, in a parish office of D±brówka there is a baptismal certificate of Cyprian Kamil Norwid. Another interesting site is an over 100-year-old wooden presbytery, the porch of which is decorated with colorful stained glass windows. An eclectic palace of ¦lężany, built ca. 1880, is a real treasure of the region. The original structure of the palace was erected in the 16th century. Its present owner, PKO BP, restored the facility with the utmost care and furnished it with a period decor. Former splendor was restored to the surrounding park as well. Private owners of a manor house of Jaktory-Chajęty refurbished the structure, bringing back its former magnificence. These efforts were appreciated by the Ministry of Culture and Art, which presented them with an award. The future of the township is connected with opening and expansion of production-service-trade companies along--side the Warsaw-Helsinki road. The main advantages of the area are its natural values, which encourage to recreation and tourism.
